We were up earlier today and had our free breakfast at the motel; Cheerios and a donut. We drove to the End of Trail Museum in Oregon City OR and found out we couldn’t get in, there were too many school kids. We drove to the Rhododendron garden in Portland OR. Beautiful!! What colors. It was on a small lake, had lots of ducks, geese and small song birds. We had lunch at a Mexican restaurant and got back to the museum by 2:00 for the lecture and show. We were back on road by 3:30. We had trouble finding our way in downtown Portland, so finally decided we would park the car and ride the light rail. We got on, but after a couple of stops, it went underground - so much for seeing Portland! It really goes out into the suburbs a long way, so after it came out of the tunnel, we got out, crossed the tracks and waited for the return train. The whole trip took about an hour. We headed out of town about 5:30. Again, we made a wrong turn but finally got on 405 and went over the river into Washington. We drove to Woodland WA and picked out the Best Western. We ate at the Oak Tree Inn. I did some figuring of my spending and it is still about $400 a month.
