We slept late again, after 8:00. We ate breakfast in the restaurant here and watched hummingbirds at feeders outside our windows. We reserved our room for a second night. We like this place. It has green grass and is quiet. The room is very nice, larger than most we’ve stayed in and we can sit out on the patio. We drove north to Bryce Canyon UT, about 60 miles from here. Before Bryce Canyon, we went through Red Canyon. Beautiful, with red rocks in crazy shapes. As we neared Bryce we could see smoke. It turned out there was a prescribed burn. The rangers stopped us for a few minutes and told us to turn on our lights. We used our golden age passes to get in to the park. We drove the entire route, 18 miles to Rainbow Point ,which is 9117 ft above sea level. We did a lot of looking around and taking pictures and had a picnic lunch with a few drops of rain. We drove out, went a little farther north to Panquitch UT. We drove around, stopped at post office to get some mailers and drove back to Mt Carmel Junction. Mary Harriett got batteries for the CD player. We’ll keep that on the cooler to play CDs when we want to. While at dinner, Mary Harriett sat on her glasses, the ones she wears to drive, and broke them. The lady at the desk offered to glue them, so we hope they’ll hold until we get to Salt Lake City.
