20020429 Salt Lake City UT

Mary Harriett took the film to be developed, but we’ll have to pick it up tomorrow because we got back after 6:00. She tried to call John before we left, but the line was busy. We went to AAA for advice on tours of the city, but all we got was a map. We parked the van in a building garage and toured on our own. We went to Temple Square where two of the “sisters” gave us a tour. One lady in the group suggested a restaurant at top of Joseph Smith Memorial building. The lobby was beautiful and the “garden room” was a nice place to have lunch. We talked to two ladies at the next table and got information from our waitress about sites for Olympic events. We toured the Beehive House, which was one of Brigham Young’s homes, then went to the Aviary in Liberty Park. We spent almost two hours there. Then we drove through an area where early mormons lived in some nice mansions, but we saw more in Temple street. We want back to Park City and stopped at the library to check e-mail. There were messages from John, Win, Steve, Elizabeth, Cathy, Regina, Nancy C. and Arlene. I sent a note to family. Mary Harriett did get ahold of John.
